THE CATAMARAN RESORT
HOTEL'S NEW WATERFRONT RETREAT FOR WELLNESS AND REJUVENATION
Surrounded by the best beaches, dining, shopping and
recreational
activities in San Diego, the Spa at the Catamaran Resort
Hotel
will shine among San Diego's finest
|
| San Diego,
California (September 2004) - The Catamaran Resort Hotel is
proud to announce that the New Year will bring a luxurious,
full-service Spa and health club to the serene and beautiful
shores of Mission Bay. Beginning in Spring 2005, hotel guests
and local residents will enjoy state-of-the-art facilities
for relaxation and exercise in the tropical beauty of the
Catamaran's grounds. |
| "Guests
will embark on a journey designed to ease them away from the
stresses of daily life toward a state of serenity," says Spa
Director Darcie DeBartelo. Like its renowned sister facility
at The Lodge at Torrey Pines, the Spa will feature a complete
line of restorative treatments including therapeutic and meditative
massages, facials, body wraps, Vichy shower and hydrotherapy.
Especially for the Catamaran, with its lush Polynesian atmosphere,
Ms. DeBartelo is designing spa rituals that draw from South
Pacific and Asian healing traditions. |
| The new
health club and its amenities will offer the latest in cardio
and strength training equipment including top-of-the-line
treadmills, elliptical trainers, stationary cycles, and weight
training equipment. |
| Both
the Spa and health club will make the most of the Catamaran's
lovely waterside setting. The Spa will feature an outdoor
whirlpool with 360-degree views of Mission Bay. At the health
club, guests will find state-of-the-art training equipment
on a luxurious outdoor patio as well as in elaborate indoor
facilities. Fresh-air yoga and Pilates classes will be offered
on a secluded lawn that adjoins one of the most beautiful
sandy beaches in the area. |
| Just
steps from the hotel and Spa, guests may jog or walk along
Mission Bay and the Pacific shores on 10 miles of picturesque
boardwalk. |
| Ms. DeBartelo,
who oversees all Spa activities, says the Spa's menu of services
will focus on botanical and marine-based body treatments,
massage, hydrotherapy and skin care."Our menu will not reflect
trendy gimmicks," she says. "It will focus instead on experiences
that have real physiological, psychological, or beauty benefits." |
| Open
to both hotel and day spa guests, the Spa will offer ten individual
treatment rooms, a Ritual room, a Vichy shower room, and a
couples room. Both the men's and women's locker rooms will
include steam and sauna rooms. In addition, guests may continue
their spa experience at home: the Spa will offer many of its
products for purchase. The Spa will also offer a full-service
salon. |
| At over
9,300 square feet in size, the Spa will be the only treatment
facility in the area large enough to meet the growing demands
of hotel guests as well as local residents. Construction on
the Spa and health club facility began in September 2004 and
will be completed by the first quarter of 2005. |
