All month long, October 1-31, kids eat, play, and ride (aboard the Bahia Belle sternwheeler) for free. Hotel guests who dine at Oceana Coastal Kitchen in the Catamaran Resort or Dockside 1953 in the Bahia Resort can enjoy a complimentary kid’s meal for each paid adult entrée. Additionally, Action Sport Rentals at both resorts is offering kids a free stand-up paddleboard or kayak rental with the purchase of one adult one-hour or longer rental. Oceana Coastal Kitchen at the Catamaran Resort and Dockside 1953 at the Bahia Resort are offering curated three-course, prix fixe dinners paired with stunning views of Mission Bay. Oceana diners can choose from three mouthwatering entrées – Braised Pork Shoulder, Crispy Skin Salmon, or Hawaiian Pad Thai– plus a choice of starters and decadent desserts by new Executive Chef Paul Arias. At Dockside, diners can also choose from a trio of delectable entrées – Blackened Salmon, Achiote-Marinated Flat Iron steak or Chicken Veracruz – plus a Bahia Wedge Salad or clam chowder and caramelized custard for dessert by Executive Chef Bryan Stuppy. Cost is $50 per person.
Oompah on the Bay
Strike up the band and roll out the barrel… It’s Oktoberfest on Mission Bay! Lederhosen is optional on the first-ever Oktoberfest Cruise aboard the William D. Evans sternwheeler on October 13 (8-11 p.m.), departing from the Bahia Resort pier. There will be an assortment of Oktoberfest beers, concessions including giant knot pretzels and a classic bratwurst station, photo booth, live German folk music, a DJ, and raffle prizes to add to the revelry of this 21+ event. Tickets cost $25 per person; $75 for a 4-pack of tickets.
Frightful Fun
Ghosts and ghouls are welcome on the William D. Evans Halloween Cruise on October 27 (9 p.m.-12 a.m.), departing from the Bahia Resort pier. There will be two live DJs, bar specials including La Muerte Margarita and a Witch’s Brew, concessions, a costume contest, and a photobooth to capture “spook-tacular” moments throughout the night. Partygoers must be 21+. Tickets cost $35 per person; $105 for a 4-pack of tickets.
Aloha Spirit
It’s island time, all the time at the Catamaran Resort, San Diego’s premier tropical oasis on Mission Bay. A poolside Keiki Klub (Kids Club) occurs Saturdays from 1-3 p.m., featuring complimentary interactive Hawaiian-inspired arts and crafts activities.
Guests of all ages are invited for complimentary Hula Lessons and fresh flower Lei Making (cost $20), which take place bayside on Saturdays from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Also, every Saturday at 1 p.m., an electrifying Traditions of Polynesia show featuring drummers, hula dancers, and a torch lighting carries on the island vibe.
Get up close and personal with Bianchi, a vibrant blue and gold macaw known for his animal impressions, and five other captivating parrots during the popular Bird Show – a real-life, outdoor enchanted tiki room. Shows take place daily at 3 p.m. (except on Sundays and Wednesdays) outside the lobby.
Maritime Party Time
Make some waves on the Bahia Belle After Dark Cruise, Mission Bay’s ultimate party boat, on Fridays and Saturdays, 8-11:30 p.m. While cruising the calm waters of the bay, guests can dance to live music and enjoy cocktails and craft brews. Partygoers must be 21+. The cruise departs from both resorts. Ticket cost is $15 per passenger.
Autumn Chill
Guests at the Catamaran Resort can enjoy beachfront bliss this fall with Yoga on the Bay, which takes place daily 8:30-9:30 a.m. The complimentary open-air yoga session, overlooking the calm waters of Mission Bay, is a relaxing way to start the morning. Mats are provided.
Fall Flicks
Taking advantage of San Diego’s mild autumn weather, both the Bahia and Catamaran resorts host complimentary outdoor, family-friendly movie nights for guests.
