San Diego, CA – One of the most exciting seasons of the year, springtime at the Bahia Resort Hotel and Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa on Mission Bay brings with it near-perfect weather and a plethora of unique, fun-filled activities and events. Guests can bask in the sun, enjoy warm ocean breezes, and soak in everything the resorts have to offer with these top things to do this spring.
Island Vibes
The Polynesian-inspired Catamaran Resort gets into the “spirit of aloha” with several family-friendly, island-themed activities amidst its tropical setting. The poolside Keiki Klub (Kids Club), happening Saturdays and Sundays from 1-3 p.m., features complimentary, interactive Hawaiian-inspired arts and crafts for kids. Guests of all ages can be transported to the islands with complimentary Hula Lessons and fresh flower Lei Making (cost $15), which take place bayside on Saturdays from 3-5 p.m. Continuing the festive island vibe, every Saturday at 6 p.m. an electrifying Torch Lighting ceremony fills the air with the exotic sights and sounds of Polynesia, featuring rhythmic drums and hula dancing on the shores of Mission Bay – a must see!
A real-life, outdoor enchanted tiki room, the spotlight shines on the Catamaran Resort’s six colorful talkative parrots during daily Bird Shows (except Sunday and Wednesday) at 3 p.m. Guests can get up close and personal with these fine feathered friends for a perfect vacation photo op.
Movie Magic
Taking advantage of San Diego’s warm spring weather, complimentary family-friendly movie nights are staged outdoors at both resorts. There are Movies on the Bay at the Catamaran Resort, on Tuesdays and Fridays beginning at dusk, with complimentary popcorn and a stunning backdrop of Mission Bay. Surrounded by swaying palm trees and tropical gardens, the Movies at Palm Terrace at the Bahia Resort take place on Saturdays at 7 p.m.
